Publish & export
Publish a post
The “Publish” button opens the platform alongside, or your files on your phone, then hands you the images and texts one step at a time. “It’s live!” starts tracking, and the celebration.
On this page7
joli.studio never publishes for you: you put the post online yourself, on the platform, with your own account. The Publish button keeps that moment short. It opens the platform, hands you the files and then the texts in the order the platform asks for them, and remembers that it’s done. The window never calls the AI: nothing in it costs Sparks.
Where to find it
Publish is the Fire button at the top right of every editor: slides, text or animation. The shortcut Ctrl+Shift+P (or ⇧⌘P on a Mac) opens the same window. A ready or scheduled post opens in its editor anyway, with the button right there.
Other doors lead to it:
- Publish… in a card’s menu, in Posts;
- Publish in a calendar slot’s panel, for a ready or scheduled post;
- the “To publish” task in To do, on the project’s Home;
- the “Time to post” notification, on the day (see below).
The arrow next to the button opens its menu: Publish step by step, Mark as published when the post is already live, then the Export section (including the recommended delivery, ⌘E) and the Copy section. See export numbered PNGs.
Where are you posting?
The window starts with that question, and two answers, by click or with the 1 and 2 keys:
- On this computer: the platform opens in a window alongside, on the right half of the screen, or in a tab if the screen is less than 1280 pixels wide. You drop the files and paste the texts there as you go.
- On my phone: a QR code, and everything opens on your phone, ready to share to the platform’s app.
The side you pick is remembered for each platform: next time, it’s suggested first, marked “Same as last time”. At the bottom of the window, a link lets you switch sides along the way.
From the app open on your phone, the question doesn’t come up: the window takes the whole screen and starts right at the files, saved through your phone’s share sheet, then the texts (see joli.studio on your phone).
If the post’s checks find blocking issues, a banner flags them at the top, with a way to see them. It doesn’t stop you from publishing.
On your computer, in three steps
The images
One click downloads them, as numbered JPEGs,
01-…,02-…, already sorted in your Downloads. In the platform, select them from 01 to the last one: the carousel will be in the right order.The texts
The caption, the hashtags if they’re separate, the alt texts: each text goes to the clipboard, one button at a time, in the order the platform asks for them. The C key copies the highlighted text and moves to the next. Paste, come back, copy the next one.
Live
Publish in the platform’s window, then come back: paste the post link if you have it, and click It’s live!. The time recorded is the moment you click; “change” lets you give the real one.
Each step checks itself off: images downloaded, last text copied. The step bar at the top leads to any of them, and “Already done” checks one off by hand. Close without worry: whatever is checked is waiting for you when you reopen it.
Depending on the format
- LinkedIn carousel: the images step becomes “The document”, the PDF, with its title to copy right below, which LinkedIn asks for on upload. See the LinkedIn PDF.
- Thread and poll: no files. A thread’s posts are copied one by one; a poll hands you its text, its question and its options.
- Text post: its image first, if it has one, then the text.
- Animation: “The video” comes first. The MP4 renders in your browser, for free, then downloads on its own; keep the tab open while it renders.
- Post scheduled ahead: a banner reminds you of the planned day and time. You can prepare everything now; on the day, the notification reopens the window.
On your phone
Scan the QR code
With your phone’s camera. The window on your computer first prepares the files, “Preparing the images…”, then shows the code. Keep it open: it follows what happens on the phone.
Save the images
The page shows the files, then “Save the 6 images”: the phone’s share sheet saves them to Photos, in order. A browser that can’t share files offers one link per file, to save one by one.
Copy the texts
One button per text, which checks itself off once copied.
Publish
“Open Instagram” opens the platform. Once the post is out, “Is it live?”: paste the link if you have it, then It’s live!. On your computer, the window knows right away and celebrates too.
The celebration
It’s live!, from your computer or your phone, moves the post to Published, records the publication and starts the readings at D+1, D+7 and D+30. Then comes confetti, and what this post changes:
- Streak: the weeks in a row you’ve kept your strategy’s cadence on this platform;
- Posts this week: how many are out, out of how many planned;
- First numbers (day 1): the day to come back and enter the first numbers.
A tile with no data isn’t shown. Your first post, then your 10th, 25th, 50th and 100th, get a title of their own. After that: View the post, the next ready or scheduled post (or Write the next one), and Close. Esc or a click stops the confetti.
On the day
At a scheduled post’s time, every member of the organization gets the “Time to post” notification in the bell, with the post’s title and platform. It opens the post, and the Publish window with it. No email. That same day, To do keeps the post at the top, with its time, or “Late” once it has passed.
