# Generate a strategy

> Two ways in: let the AI propose everything from your brand, or answer three questions. The strategy arrives “To approve,” you adjust it, then it fills your calendar.

Updated 2026-10-07

The strategy is what keeps the blank page away. It decides what you post, how often and why — and it turns that into a calendar where **every slot already carries its brief**. You don’t need to know anything beforehand to get one.

## Before you start

Generation reads the brand profile, and it has to be **at least 75% complete**. Below that, the screen says so and offers “Complete the brand.” If your email address isn’t confirmed yet, it asks for that too before anything starts.

## Two ways in

Open **Calendar**, then the **Strategy** tab. Until a strategy exists, the page offers two paths:

- **“Propose a strategy”** — one click on “Suggest,” no questions. The AI starts from your brand and suggests everything: the rhythm, what comes back, the first four weeks, with the reason behind each choice. It’s the right path if you don’t know how much to post.
- **“I know what I want”** — “For those who already know social media”: three questions, then the AI builds the rest around your answers.

Under both, “From your brand” recalls what the AI will read, including your [rendezvous](/en/guide/your-brand-rendezvous/).

## “I know what I want,” step by step

1. **What are you after first?**

“Get known,” “Sell,” or both — the AI sets the mix of your posts from your answer. An optional field, “In a few words,” lets you be specific: “quote requests from homeowners around Nantes.”

2. **How often do you post?**

From once a month to several times a day, **in total** for the brand (with “the same post” on all your platforms) or **per platform**. The AI won’t change this rhythm. The details are in [choose your rhythm](/en/guide/choose-your-rhythm/).

3. **What do you show?**

What feeds your posts: your brand’s rendezvous, to check off, and “What else happens during your week” — a finished job, the Saturday bake, a happy customer. The “Going further” fold adds **moments ahead** (launches, holidays, trade shows: the AI prepares a campaign around each one) and your **constraints** (“closed on Mondays”).

4. **Launch it**

“Suggest my strategy” carries the estimated cost, the same as “Suggest.”

> **Before, then after**
>
> The estimated cost shows on the button before anything is sent, and the actual cost afterwards, with the strategy; it goes into the organization’s history.

Generation runs **on the server**, for about two minutes: you can switch pages, reload, close the tab; it keeps going and is there when you come back. Your teammates see it too, with the name of whoever started it.

## “To approve”: nothing moves without your go-ahead

The proposed strategy opens with a **“To approve”** banner: “Just suggested from your brand. Adjust whatever doesn’t feel like you.” The calendar hasn’t changed yet.

- **The rhythm** is set with the slider, for free: the calendar is recalculated without AI.
- **What the AI added** — a rendezvous it suggests, for instance — is marked “Suggested by AI,” with “Keep” or “Remove.” Keeping a rendezvous also adds it to your brand.
- **“Change by chatting”** opens the chat, if you’d rather say it in your own words (see below).

When it feels like you, **“Approve and fill the calendar”**: the slots arrive from the day chosen right next to it, “Start” — today by default, or tomorrow, or Monday — each with its brief. Today, nothing is placed at an hour already gone.

## The Strategy page, top to bottom

Once approved, the strategy fits on a single page that reads in one go. At the top, **“Your strategy in one sentence”**: what you post and how often. Below it, **“Why this strategy”** unfolds the AI’s reasoning, and a line tells where the version comes from — proposed by AI, changed by whom and when — and whether the calendar follows it.

Then five questions, each with its answer, followed by a table of contents on the left:

- **When?** — your typical week: each platform on its own line, its days and times, series set on their day, and the “open choice” slots the strategy fills.
- **About what?** — your subjects, in one bar that always adds up to 100%, and the mix of post types: often, sometimes, rarely.
- **What comes back** — your rendezvous and your series, in a single list.
- **What’s ahead** — the dated moments and their posts, then **Open slots**: the share left free for what has no date yet, and its occasions.
- **The rules** — in plain sentences: hard promotion at most, social proof at least, what never comes twice in a row.

## Edit a part

Each part has its **“Edit”**: it opens right where you were reading it, the others stay visible in the background. Days are checked on the week, the boundary between two subjects is dragged, a post type goes from “Sometimes” to “Often” in one click — “In percentages” stays at hand if you want the number. **“Save”** (or ⌘S) creates a new version: free, no AI, and **History**, in the “⋯” menu, keeps them all. On a phone, the part opens as a sheet.

## Change by chatting

Instead of hunting for the right part, write what you want in the field at the bottom of the page: “fewer tips,” “add the trade shows,” “twice a week in May.” The chat opens alongside; the AI answers in one sentence and proposes a new version, which the page shows in blue, part by part. Nothing is saved until you click “Save”; “Set aside” leaves it be.

> **Cost**
>
> Each message shows its estimated cost before it’s sent, and its actual cost afterwards. A saved proposal marks the calendar as needing replanning; posts already created stay put.

## The calendar follows, on your signal

Saving a version doesn’t touch the calendar. When it still follows an earlier version, a banner says so at the top of the page, with “View changes” and **“Apply to calendar,”** which replaces **only the slots that are still empty**, from today on; the parts changed since are marked “Edited.” Drafted, scheduled and published posts, and slots you added by hand, stay put. When everything is up to date, there is no banner: the line under the sentence says so.

## Redo the strategy

“Redo the strategy,” in the “⋯” menu next to the sentence, reopens the same two ways in. The new version also arrives “To approve”: the current version stays in the history, and the calendar follows it until you approve the new one.

## What’s next

The calendar is full of slots, each with its platform, post type, core topic, structure and a suggested angle. Open the first one and [create the post from its slot](/en/guide/create-a-post-from-a-slot/), or [move it](/en/guide/move-a-slot/) if it falls on a bad day.
